What DataRights does

DataRights is a South African digital exposure protection service. It helps subscribers scan for likely exposure, prepare POPIA Section 24 deletion or correction requests, send those requests to covered data holders, and track responses in a clear Privacy Control Center.

The service is practical and evidence-based. We distinguish between a request sent, a broker acknowledgement, a confirmed deletion, a refusal, an overdue response, and an escalation record.

Discover exposure

Start with a scan that points out likely data-broker, marketing, and breach signals linked to your details.

Submit requests

Paid plans help prepare and submit POPIA requests to covered organisations where the workflow supports it.

Track responses

DataRights tracks request status, response deadlines, broker replies, and escalation options where appropriate.

What DataRights does not promise

DataRights does not guarantee deletion. Some organisations may have a lawful basis to keep certain records, especially where credit, tax, fraud-prevention, or legal-retention duties apply. When that happens, the goal is to record the response clearly and show the next practical option.

How we work

Service standards
  • Request records should show what was sent, when it was sent, and what response was received.
  • Confirmed deletion is used only when the available evidence supports that status.
  • Privacy questions route to the Information Officer at privacy@datarights.co.za.
